I am a former 2005 throat cancer survivor. I had 38 radiation treatments and 6 chemo treatments. So I had issues with my back bottom teeth having to be removed 4 years after my cancer treatments. I had to have 40 hour of barometric chamber treatments before those teeth could be retracted. In January 2020 I woke up one morning being unable to open my mouth wide enough to eat food using a spoon or fork. After consulting with my Dentist and Oral Surgeons two weeks later they recommended seeing Dr. Barron and her TMJ staff. I was unsure about this but not decided to see what they could do to help me. Dr. Barron and her staff were attentive to my needs and suggest different therapies to include making appliances for me to wear in my mouth doing the day and at night. It was difficult for me to open my mouth wide enough for the molds could be made for my appliances. However after getting these appliances and wearing them for a short period of time I have had no problems opening my mouth.
